I have listed a few Bangle Sets in the shop and will be listing a bunch more sets AND singles in evry colour by the end of the week. NEW Brights Post Earrings

I have been working non-stop lately for two reasons: 1. I'm avoiding the winter weather that seems to be pervading the spring and 2.because I wanted to stock the shop with post earrings (my most requested item) in as many colours as possible. I often get custom requests for earrings to match my pendants and while I love to oblige, I wanted to make it easier for people to order these items.

You can find a whole bunch of post earrings in the shop but here are a few new options:

New Colours for Spring!

Choosing colours and sticking with them is not my strong point. Much of my design sense is driven by colour, so narrowing down the pallet and focusing on a few choice colour combinations is always painstaking for me. Yet, decisions had to be made for my Spring 2014 collection. Even though I have dozens (most likely over 100- really) of glass colours to choose from, by focusing on a dozen or so choices I can streamline the design process and provide a well thought out colour pallet for the season that compliment my jewellery design in the best possible way. So, here are my main choices so far (I think, really):

Look out for my new Spring collection coming to the shop this week. Yes, I still hope for spring, even though it -20 and snow covers most of my windows!

More NEW pendants are being listed in the shop today! This time, these wood bezel and fused glass beauties I've been working on for awhile. I have sold these at craft fairs and in my studio for sometime, but recently decided they belonged in my ETSY SHOP as well.

Each pendant is one of a kind and is made in several stages just for you. I love the vintage feel and mixing the wood bezels and fused glass gives them a natural texture. Come by and take peek. XXOO Penny

Process...

This weekend I was able to steal some time in the studio which felt like an incredibly good break from the chaos that has become my life in renovationg purgatory.

I snapped a few photos, just to document and remember how lucky I am to have the chance to work with my hands when my mind is bursting with to-do lists, shopping trips, decisions, decisions, decisions.....

I hope to update in a few days when these screen printed, then hand painted pendants and rings will be in the shop (fingers crossed that all goes well in the kiln).

I hope that you were somewhere wonderful doing what you love this weekend too. Penny xxoo.

New Winter Fields Necklaces

As promised, I'm back to share a quick photo of a new series of necklaces that have been listed in the shop today (yay!)

The Winter Fields series was inspired by long winter walks and whispy, moody landscapes that get lit up brightly by the reflection of sunlight on snow.

“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.” ― Lewis Carroll

New Year, New Penny Glass Girl.

Hello friends. I really hope that you enjoyed your holiday as much as I did this year. I am truly beside myself with gratitude for the friends and family that surround me in times like these, making this a holiday that I will remember for the truly laid back times, slow cooking, chatting over many cups of tea and rummaging through the snow banks (finally, snow in Toronto!).

This year, I feel especially re-energized and so ready to get back to work. MY well-rested brain is brusting with new ideas and my notebooks are full to the brim with pieces that must get made. I have already begun listing some new spring pieces in the shop last night and hope to continue doing so as the week progresses. I do hope you can find the time to drop by Penny Glass Girl for a peek.

Good Night.

It's a cold a blustery night out tonight, the kind that is making me want to do nothing but hide under my cozy blanket in front of the fire.

This rainy dark night also reminded me that I wanted to stop in to show off some NEW Night lights that I made for a show this weekend. They were such a big hit that I thought about listing them in the shop as well. I have some photos to take and listings to write, but watch for them to be available for sale in the next few days.

,

I hope your somewhere warm and snuggly too.

New Studio Almost There....

Truth be told, I have been in my NEW STUDIO for a few weeks now, but have been sooooo busy that I haven't had time to photograph it or share it with you here yet. Being busy is a problem I like have so no complaints here.

If your're interested in what it used to look like, you can see the before pics here.I promise to have some more interesting pics soon, but for the time being, here's a sneak peek:

I still have yet to add in many of the decorating details that will make it feel a bit more "homey" but am already loving the look and feel of my new space.

A little bit of sunshine on a rainy day

It's rainy here - cold, dark rainy. The kind of day that makes me want to curl up and not do a whole lot. But alas, it's not possible in our house full of busy kids and the typical tooing and frooing of weekend family life.

Walking through my new studio, which is almost done (yay!) I spotted these flowers that I bought the other day while having brunch with my sweet cousin, mother and grandmother, and they perked me right up.

Sometimes, it's that simple, a few flowers can brighten up my day.

Happy Weekednd!

Studio Redo: Still Going

I'm still plugging away on my tiny studio redo, promise!

Life is still happening at a frantic pace around here with my two busy boys and our massive house reno which will seemingly NEVER end, but things are progressing quite well in my little studio and I hope to have in finished and photographed by the end of the weekend (perhaps, I am posting in hopes that it might manifest some action:).

In the meantime, here are a few great and organized spaces that I found via Pinterest:
I love how the colours work together to create a happy, bright and inspiring space here.

I love the eccletic feel of this office that still maintains a lot of storage:
This photo was found here.

I've been searching everywhere for some great storage ideas for all my craft supplies which although may not always be part of my creative work, need to be part of my tiny space (mostly because I don't have room anywhere else):

I love these ideas:
The source for the above photos can be found here.

I also love this idea:
It's making me want to run out and get even more ribbon.

I hope to be back after the weekend with full pics (yay!) until then, I hope you have a wonderful weekend with those you choose to send it with.

Studio Re-do: Inspiration

Today is day two of my studio makeover! Yesterday, I posted my before pics. While I have been hard at work since then, I thought I would pop in and post some pictures that I've been collecting for inspiration.

I found them all on Pinterest: I love the ceiling colour here, the ceiling in my room is a little too low, but if it were higher, I wold be doing this:
Picture found here

I love pretty much everything about the photo below. I'm so looking forawrd to organizing my supplies and having the right storage solutions for everything:
Picture found here.

Finally, I love the fold out table below. It won't be part of my studio makeover this time, I'm very attached to my old desk as it's an old family piece, I think that this idea will be used somewhere in my home one day:

Studio Re-do: Before Pictures

This week, I'm redoing my little studio. When I say little, I really mean teeny tiny.

You see, I used to have a much larger workspace on the third floor of my house, but there have been many life changes around here in the last few years, one major one being my Mother moving in with my family of four, now making us a family of five in 1900 square feet of already squishy quarters.

When I moved into the sunroom off my kitchen (formally, a little mudroom) It looked something like this:

And This:
....and after my husband was tired of my ranting he built me this for my tools:

It wasn't my ideal space, but I grew to like this sunny little spot off of my kitchen, even though I have to pass the cookie jar 800 times a day as I walk in and out of it (a very bad geographical hazzard).

But soon enough, life happened again, we are renovation our house to make a fully contained apartment for my mother and giving my little boys some more room as they grow to be not-so-little. Now, I have this lovely washer and dryer in my tiny space to keep me company:
I know, right!?!

So, after I had my pity party during which I said I would never work again, my creative career was over, and, at one point, I would sell this *&^% house and get one that works, I decided a complete redo was in order.

Given that it's such a small space, investing in some shelving and work space that work, some paint, and some fabric and new lighting, shouldn't be all THAT expensive. So, guess what I'll be doing this week? Painting and organizing, and shopping and perhaps, maybe even sewing (yikes!).

Here's just a few more BEFORE PHOTOS:
I hope to be back to share a FINNISHED once and for all space soon!
